First Post - Intro

Well, I edited this post and completely removed what was formerly here...
Originally, I meant this blog to be a place where we could document each stage of building our "dream home" on a piece of property we recently purchased...however, the copious amount of information I had written was sort of irrelevant at this stage of the game, and my writing objective has changed a bit, so I wiped the slate clean.

I guess the important things to know about me and this blog are:

1. I am Laura, 38 years old and living in a rural suburb, north of Fort Worth, Texas.

2. I've been happily married to my hubby, Ronnie, for 11 years now.

3. We have 2 boys - Sam (9) and Charlie (1).

4. I feel very happy - and very lucky - to get to stay home with my kids.
So I don't get completely isolated from "the real world" I paint (my website is www.lollyellen.netfirms.com) mostly kids' room decor stuff, and I also work when needed for my husband's company, doing miscellaneous design work, marketing and/or graphics.

5. One day - and I don't know WHEN I'll actually buckle down and get serious about it...I HATE that I don't right now when I've got everyday material at my fingertips - I aspire to write and illustrate childrens books. My objective in creating this blog is so that hopefully I'll make it a point to sit down and WRITE every day or so, since one actually must WRITE to become a writER.
